Food moves on documents as much as on ships. The desk confirms origin allocation before an offer goes out, contracts on the industry forms, and does not quote a laycan it cannot hold.

Sourcing

Milling wheat at 11.5–13.5% protein from Russia, Romania and Australia. Rice from India, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam. ICUMSA 45 refined sugar from Brazil and India. Edible oils from the Black Sea, Malaysia, Indonesia and Argentina.

Execution

Contracts written on GAFTA and FOSFA forms against a letter of credit or cash against documents. Working lots run from a 1,000 MT pulse parcel to a 75,000 MT wheat shipment, bagged or in bulk.

Verification

Cargo is inspected, fumigated and certified at origin before loading. Phytosanitary and health certificates travel with the shipment; settlement completes against clean documents at discharge.

How a trade runs

   Buyer submits specification and quantity. The KYC file opens.

   The desk issues an offer against confirmed origin allocation and a realistic laycan.

3. 03

   Contract executed on GAFTA or FOSFA form, with the payment instrument in place.

4. 04

   Cargo inspected, fumigated and certified at origin, then loaded.

5. 05

   Shipment discharges; settlement completes against clean documents.
